kano alchohol saga:

With utter dismay i write to say that in the practise of sharia in kano the non-indigenes and non-muslims are bearing the brunt of it all. i will lay proper emphasis on the unlawfull seizure and distruction of liqour in kano metropolis. This has generated so much controversy and by what laws do they operate one gets to ask?
And of course the following questions arises:
why do they seize these drinks?
Are there any known federal laws that prohibit the sale?
Do they understand the implication of the seizure and distruction to peoples livelihood?
By what laws are the dealers prosecuted?
What does the state law enforcements hope to achieve by their actions?
On whos side does the federal police stand?
These and some other crucial questions need answers. I would however submit that the society has gone beyond such subversive, treacherous, unreasonable unwaranted, and hypocritical use of sharia laws and the (HISBAH) to grind to to a halt peoples lawfull economic activity.
Moreso it is interesting to know that the cheif custodians and executors of these laws actually partake in the alchohol drinking spree in sabongari.
Too bad also to know that seized the drinks are been resold to make their ends. pity pity pity.

However excessive drinking must be controlled even if it impacts heavily on some people's livelihood. We don't want a society of alcoholics neither do we want a nanny state. Seizing and destroying liqour is not the way forward, education is. For personal reasons, I have had no alcohol for nearly two months now and i can honestly say i don't miss it that much.; ▶ Reply to This

How so blindly the state government start up an issue they cant conclude, we clearly remember how many lives were lost and how many people unecessarily molested trying to impose sharia on non indegenes and non muslims alike. when will they realise that it is possible to know our differences and yet become one. yet in this global village the world has become? hmmn
